We are currently recruiting for two Senior Art Handling Technicians to support the delivery of Tate’s exciting programmes.

The post-holder will lead a team of Art Handling Technicians and undertake collection management and care operations for all types of artwork at Stores (Southwark and Wiltshire) including the installation/de-installation, safe handling and packing artworks for exhibitions, loans, digitization, acquisition and storage. The role sits within a management team of Senior Art Handling Technicians within the Collection Management department at Tate.

To be successful in this role you will have a high level of expertise in the handling, installation and care of a variety of complex artworks. You will have the ability to lead and motivate a team and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. In this role you will also be expected to work confidently and accurately under pressure.

You will have proven experience of providing technical solutions to installation problems and have demonstrable experience of advising management on risks and achievable schedules. You will be excellent at providing first-class advice on the specifications for equipment and be responsible for the care, maintenance and storage of art handling equipment and materials.


This position is offered on a fixed-term contract until 30/09/2024.
