Tate Commerce is the trading arm of Tate. Its chief areas of operation are retailing on four sites, publishing (both Tate exhibition catalogues and general art books, as well as illustrated children’s books), product development, picture library and licensing.

We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Visual Merchandise Assistant to join a small but busy VM team at Tate Modern. The role will require you to support the VM team in delivering excellent standards of visual merchandising across all shops and windows within Tate Modern. The perfect candidate will show flair and confidence in visual merchandising, having had previous experience in a similar role and be able to work well on solo projects as well as thriving within the team. Ideally you will have some flexibility around working patterns, being able to regularly work early mornings and weekends as well as occasional late nights when necessary.

Based at Tate Modern and reporting to the VM Manager you will be liaising regularly with the VM Coordinator and Retail Manager in delivering exciting and inspiring displays and window schemes; you will also need to manage information and expectations from various stakeholders at all levels within the business. Our ideal candidate will have experience in using InDesign as the role will involve being responsible for all signage throughout the shops. You will also need to demonstrate:

- A passion for art and design
- A creative approach to problem solving
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Ability to train the shop teams in VM best practice and standards.
- Proficiency in MS Office and InDesign
- Ability to work under pressure, both independently and collaboratively
- Ability to perform physical activities
