Tate Commerce is the trading arm of Tate. Its chief areas of operation are retailing on four sites, publishing (both Tate exhibition catalogues and general art books, as well as illustrated children’s books), product development, picture library and licensing.Tate Edit
features limited editions, objects for the home, and artist’s products. The selection will change regularly and is uniquely Tate.
The shop includes many of our favourite things, from classic design pieces to objects created specially for us, and furniture, cutlery, glass and tableware used in Tate’s restaurants and member’s rooms.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Retail Assistant to join the Tate Edit team. We are recruiting; x1 21 hour per week permanent position.
Given the nature of the store we require someone who is comfortable with dealing with high value items
and someone confident in communicating and building relationships
with high profile clients. The position will require you to have a strong sales background
in high end product with proven knowledge of modern art and design. The Retail Assistant will also be required to work events for new Edit launches.
To be successful you will need to love working with the public
and have experience of working in a fast-paced, busy retail environment
. You will be part of a dynamic team and so will need to work well with others and display excellent communication and collaboration skills. You will be a motivated self-starter and have experience using databases.
