Time-based media in this context are artworks that have as their medium film, slides, video, audio, performance or software, they can be analogue or digital and they have the dimension of time. The time-based media conservation team is responsible for the preservation, acquisition, exhibition, display and loan of these artworks.

We are seeking a conservation technician to work within our Time-Based Media Conservation team. You will provide technical support for the time-based media artwork collection, with a focus on supporting the exhibition and display of artworks through media and equipment checking, sourcing and preparing equipment for display and updating Conservation Records. You will assist the Senior Technicians and Conservators with the exhibition and display of the Time-Based Media artworks selected for the display across the Tate Sites.

We are looking for someone who is willing to learn and develop in this area and share skills in a collaborative environment who can demonstrate the practical skills required for handling and working with time-based media art works. It would be desirable for any candidate to have an interest in contemporary art as well as technical knowledge of media artworks.
