This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic and creative Learning team whose vision is to act as a champion for art in society.

We are looking for a candidate with excellent customer service to join our collaborative Schools Bookings team. In this role you will be responsible for welcoming teachers and young people aged 5-18 to the gallery, encouraging them to participate in the Tate London Schools and Teachers programme, and promoting both Tate Modern and Tate Britain as an alternative teaching and learning environment.

As a Schools Assistant, you will work closely with colleagues in the Schools Bookings team to book self-led visits, exhibition visits and artist-led workshops for school groups via phone and email. You will also book teacher professional development courses and private views, as well as promote a range of artist-devised teaching and learning resources. You will share responsibility for the administration of these bookings.

A Schools Assistant can also expect to provide administrative support to artists and Learning Department curators as part of the wider Tate London Schools and Teachers programme. By joining the Schools and Teachers team, you will support a programme that values all that a young person brings to an encounter with art - their ideas, curiosities and lived experience.

Fundamental to all roles and underpinning the work you will be doing is our team and Departmental commitment to inclusive practice and to becoming an anti-racist programme and institution. As a Team, we are approaching this personally, professionally and collectively.

This position has been advertised internally only and is only open to current Tate Gallery employees on permanent, fixed-term or temporary contracts, and agency workers currently temping at Tate Gallery.
